@GoCRAZY I saw a nice 6.5 Grendel at a pawn shop for like 500 and it came with a bipod and a cool grip
Not sure what company it was from
Is it a good round?
I wouldn't mess with it just because it's uncommon
Ah
I've seen a lot of calibers become trendy and the latest fad over the years, and then their fame dies
Reminds me of a lot of pop music
😅
I've heard that the grendel can punch through 2 car doors or an engine block
But it has a lot of drop
2 car doors is nothing
Idk that's just what the pawn shop guy said 🤣
Thin sheet of aluminum and fuckin plastic
I had never heard of the round before
Any round worth its salt can go through two of those
He said that police snipers were gonna use it but then changed to .338 Lapua
Idk if that's true
It sounds to me like he's trying to sell you a gun
Looool
Probably so.
Being able to shoot through an engine block, even if true, is overrated
Name me one situation where you as a civvie are going to need that much fuckin penetration
*tyrannical government*
🤣 🤣
True... lol
You can never be too prepared 😅
Nope, you can't
And what if the deer start fighting back? Then what?
Lol
Alright man, I got some shit to take care of so I'll hit you up another time
Thanks for the laugh
😅 👍 catch you later!
Be easy Hunter, stay frosty

6.5 grendel round is more common than you think, it gets bought up fast around here, besides that it has a lot more kenetic energy than 5.56 and it fits the ar15 platform but $500 for a complete rifle sounds cheap, that means the pawn shop doesnt have much in it so I guess buy it at your own risk if you wanted to, I wouldn't though.. I bought mine a while back from sanders (just the upper) for like $450 the lower with the trigger and buffer is around $600 so really nothing special but it will drive nails at 400 the grip and other small bs stuff is just magpul which you can get reasonably priced, but he was right about it being tested for the police snipers, the lapua won out, even still you're not trying to snipe anyone I dont think, this is a medium to large game round and it does carry enough energy for its job, not sure about an engine block, I really doubt that but i haven't (and won't) test it. The new kid aka "trendy" round is the .224 valkyrie and it's great over long distances but it also lacks the same stopping power so.. smaller game? But vandal is right the trendy rounds do tend to give way to tried and true rounds like the .308 and if we ever do need to defend our liberties, you'll be fine with what you have stock of in my opinion, I wouldn't buy anything way to "out there" unless you just have the extra green to drop on the new ammo ( and good luck getting enough to make a difference lol)
P.S. sorry for the book
TDLR : it's a solid round; not awfully common but can be found, and yes I like it.
@GoCRAZY Awesome! Thanks for the info 😅
but why
