what are the best products when it comes to cleaning guns?

2020-10-17 18:17:39 UTC

I use Hoppe’s No.9 Gun Cleaner or Ballistol Multipurpose Aerosol CLP

2020-10-17 18:18:20 UTC

CLP is the best choice in my opinion

2020-10-17 18:18:57 UTC

You can buy gun cleaning kits but most of the time the solvents in those aren't really all that great that's why I would suggest buying separate solvents

2020-10-17 18:20:19 UTC

I did a stripped lower, much easier than an 80% for mine recently and it didnt break the bank, with decent parts and a trigger I like, came to right around $400 not too bad for a decent reliable build, not high end but it gets it done without fail 10/10 times

2020-10-17 18:21:46 UTC

Well was closer to $500 but once you include the upper if you do them separately, it's still around 1k ish give or take a few hundred

2020-10-17 18:22:53 UTC

On the low end palmetto state offers a great upper for the price around $400 and I think that's a 10.5"

2020-10-17 18:24:40 UTC

And if you dont mind the wait, Aero has a complete lower right at $200

2020-10-17 18:25:39 UTC

Trigger and buffer system become spare parts when I'm done but still

2020-10-17 18:27:56 UTC

Yeah PSA makes good uppers, but yea strip lowers are far easier to work with than 80%, honestly I did one of those because I just wanted the experience of hair pulling <:KEK:726877368601411624>

My Lower builds average around 390 on cheap/bare bones to 600

2020-10-17 18:29:34 UTC

I'm not gonna say what my AR10 was let's not talk about that

2020-10-17 18:29:48 UTC

Sounds right, mine recently ended up about $500 with the stock, but I got it from a buddy for 1/3 the normal price Luth MBA 3

2020-10-17 18:31:24 UTC

It's the little parts that get you, nickel and dime you to death

2020-10-17 18:32:24 UTC

I did some "better" than mil spec on my pins and bs on a stripped and that alone cost more than the stripped lower

2020-10-17 18:33:27 UTC

Cheapest I've done a Lower was an Anderson's at 55, parts kit for 35, buffer kit for 30 and shockwave for 25....its was for my .300 blackout build. It the upper that did me in 425....

2020-10-17 18:33:41 UTC

Even still the lower was more than it should be, I think like 3 months ago you could get a decent stripped lower for $35 its $65 now

2020-10-17 18:33:59 UTC

This was before the price hikeing

2020-10-17 18:34:27 UTC

What the heck are lowers and why are they half the price of a complete gun?

2020-10-17 18:34:37 UTC

And I caught a sale lol

2020-10-17 18:34:46 UTC

Lol

2020-10-17 18:34:51 UTC

@HUNTER4639 how did you get zeducated

2020-10-17 18:35:00 UTC

Wdym

2020-10-17 18:35:06 UTC

Ur role

2020-10-17 18:35:12 UTC

<#731766520212094997>

2020-10-17 18:35:19 UTC

Ok I’ll look

2020-10-17 18:35:52 UTC

Nvm it's the middle

2020-10-17 18:36:27 UTC

So @HUNTER4639 AR platform rifles whether they be AR9, 10, 15 etc. Come in two main parts an upper and a lower reciever

2020-10-17 18:37:10 UTC

Why are they expensive and why do people insist on buying those instead of a gun

2020-10-17 18:37:25 UTC

The upper is the barrel, bolt carrier group (BCG), Gas system, and reciever

2020-10-17 18:37:42 UTC

AR9 are blowback

2020-10-17 18:38:09 UTC

No gas needed

2020-10-17 18:38:21 UTC

Or I should say most

2020-10-17 18:38:37 UTC

Price is determined by "quality" and I say that loosely because you can spend a bunch on an "okay" upper or you can get decent quality stuff at a lower price

2020-10-17 18:38:50 UTC

Hm

2020-10-17 18:39:04 UTC

@Aperfectghost yeah most but the concept is still ar based

2020-10-17 18:39:18 UTC

Oh I know

2020-10-17 18:39:23 UTC

But what's the point? I'd rather just buy a complete gun? Isn't it cheaper that way most of the time?

2020-10-17 18:39:41 UTC

And the same goes for the lower reciever which in my humble opinion is a much bigger pain in the ass to put together

2020-10-17 18:39:43 UTC

Build an AR is cheaper

2020-10-17 18:40:01 UTC

Oh

2020-10-17 18:40:17 UTC

Not to mention you learn about the AR system
