In the real world, even hunting, 200 is pushing it.
Remember, you have to still bring back the animal
Where im at 200 is a pretty reasonable range for engaugement
yeah haven't studies been done that show 300yd being pretty much longest range that infantry engage at?
Most fighting in remote/jungle is done within 50 yards
My grandpa shot an elk at what I would say is around 600 yards. We told him he couldnt hit it. Well we ran our asses off to make sure it wasnt getting back up and running. Cant believe he hit it.
I live in a mixed feilds/woodland
Heck of a shot
@chromatically You cant really see your targets beyond 300 without optics. They do have 500 yard competitions in the Army but the standard is 300
yeah, that's what I figured. I've got pretty sharp eyes and 300 yards was the longest at the range I used to go to. no way I could hit it without optics
Local terrain example
300 blackout subsonic is ~12.5 mils to 300 yd
takes FOREVER to get there lol
50 yards is pushing it in that
In Utah, sagebrush as far as the eye can see.
that's some thick forest
in AZ now which makes longer shots much more possible
Thick forests and open feilds
Missouri is identical
And now it snowed
So we need woodland camo, FDE for feilds, and snow camo for winter
All 3 pictures taken within 1 sq mile btw
People round here save ammo and hunt with their cars
No tags, no loud noises, pre tenderized meat.
