Its mostly because of the popularity of glock and they hold some value, even if they appear used up. Apx are fine, theres also a few striker fired pistols that are around the same price point...like Walther PPQ, Canik TP9, CZ P10 to name a few

I don't know about the sxs but the o/u last about 4,000 rounds in my experience and are very stiff guns.

my uncle has one and there is a deal on the 12 gauge o/u for 380$

Check it out make sure there is no rust especially in the barrel. And make sure the firing pins are intact because they tend to break on stoger o/u if they are not taken care of. If it all checks out tell him you will give him $300 for it.
