Licensing is a form of registration when you get a gun license they then know you have a gun and were you live when they want to come and take it.

It could be, just because you have a license doesn't mean you even own a gun

so im just thinking through this, but I think we have enough gun laws. here is why: Why does the government want more responsibility? gov has always tried to cast blame away from itself and appear strong and in control. I think that by taking more responsibility, they think they accomplish that, however, they don't actaully want to be responsible if any thing goes wrong and will only blame it on the people and thus continue down a perpetual loop of increasing regulations to try to maintain an image, while never doing anything to actually fix the problems they claim they want to. That is why I think it really has to be up to the individual to live responsibly and not cast blame on the gov or anyone else. I think what we need is a cultural shift towards good character and strong morals, not more laws. sorry for the rant.

And if they don't know what you got, they're not going to come after you.
