i mean direct inpingement has built in reliability issues
I saw a video where they tested AK vs. AR in Russian winter and after leaving an AR for I think 6 hours in the snow and wind, it froze to the point that they couldn't pull the charging handle. The AK survived, though.
At that point though, why are you leaving your rifle unattended in Siberia for 6 hours?
or just carrying it
sub-zero is typical where im at
I think if you did a press check every so often, even just carrying it wouldnt freeze it. I mean you really have to try to get a modern gun to freeze (but to be fair AK will probably survive even if you try).
I'm not saying that a SIG 550 isn't worth it, I'm just saying I'd go for something different. They are beautiful and you probably couldn't go wrong with one.
i honestly havnt done any snow shooting
It sucks... at least it did with the Army.
i mean ive got all my bases covered
AR carbine, AKM, G3 battle rifle, RPK
I have an AR, my Kar98k and my 3 pistols. My collection is small, but I have what I need. I figure if it all goes to crap, I can load up and move out quickly.
That being said, I do have a list of guns that I want to buy..... an extensive and expensive list.
i have a few pistols but im more rifle-y
As far as pistols go, I think I'm good with what I have (except I want a P226). My desires are for carbines like the LaRue OBR 5.56 and G36, battle rifles like the M1A, and precision rifles like the AWM and a 6.5 CM... and finally an M134.
the m134 is that port gun, right?
Is a 6.5 creed considered a short action?
i have a P226
M134 is the 6-barrel minigun.
I am jealous, what version do you have?
40S&W double/single
12rd flush or 15 on the based mags
oh, my bad xD
anyone have experience with the Stribog sub gun?
The what now?
here, this is what I was somehow thinking of -_-
231, not 134
Weird
I'll trade you for my Glock. 😆
Lol glocks
Nah
Figures....
I've fired a friends, why?
I've got most of my bases covered too.....a few AR15 in various flavors, AR10 .308, a PSL, M1A, AKM, AR9 colt, several shotguns, lots of pistols.....a .50 cal
a couple WW2 surplus rifles
Where did you do ur snow shootn/training?....I assume at CWOC. Me I did MCMWTC in Bridgeport
how did you like it?
looking for a good, relatively cheap sub gun
I never did formal winter warfare training, just that it was winter in Basic and then several occasions with my current Reserve unit.
I get ya, its ruff during winter Basic, your right it definitely sucked. probably the most taxing training I've done..it lasted 2 weeks
What made it worse was my canteens being broken, so they constantly leaked and froze my uniform.
I was apprehensive at first cuz I don't know anything about Grand power other than the make all right pistols but with that said it a good PCC for someone not wanting to mess with an AR pattern PCC....it was accurate, for most part the trigger had a crisp break too it and if I already didn't have a few AR9 already I'd purchase one myself..I built my AR9 from parts (between 650 to 800$ for cost range but that's before pcc where big news, there where no real kits available when I made them)
Another alternative is a ..Ruger PC Carbine M-LOK or if you really want a bit more High Quality go for a Sig MPX
