Where my Presbyterians at
I’m non-denominational
noice
Does anyone know the difference between denominations? I know how Catholicism is different, but not the others
So I am not a super knowledgeable and person but to put it simply: they’re differences in practices, differences in dogma/doctrine, and differences in government
Like in my church we don’t care about the bishops or pope, we are governed by elders in each congregation and our pastors do shenanigans with the denomination (EPC, PCA, PCUSA)
Yeah I don't like the catholicism system with hierarchy, in my church we only had a pastor and the nice ladies who worked at the church
Evangelical here
Yesterday my church had a costume party at Awana for the kids and one kid was dressed up as the devil smh
Haha, testing the boundaries huh
I bet his parents thought” yep I raised this boy *sigh

@Deleted User in Catholicism the pope is the representative of God
So he basically gets to make dumb laws And stuff
Like he recently endorsed Same Sex marriage
how is that dumb
Because... the bible says Man was created for Woman. And vice versa.
No I know how Catholicism is different, I don't like the theocratic setup with one man in charge
He recently endorsed Same Sex marriage in the sense of civil unions, not within the catholic church. Two things can be true at once. (1) Catholics do not agree with gay marriage from the religious union of marriage, but (2) from a civil/governmental standpoint, it doesn't make sense to deny the right to be married in the eyes of the government.
@Deleted User look up the creeds of the different denominations. That should give you an idea.
I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormon as it’s more commonly and less preferably known)
Utah?
Hopefully for College, but no. Both parents are from Utah though
Also tons of extended family there
Nice, for college I've gotten stuff from South Dakota Weslayan, it looks good but my dad says that my mom's Methodist family won't like it as much
Hmm, well I’d say do what feels right for you. Family opinion can be important but they’re not the ones going to college right?
That's what my dad says
And it looks like a nice college with small class sizes
That does sound nice
Is it bad to be non-religious and support Trump, Republican, and Conservative?
no xD

@Froski the thing is he also said they can be saved within that marriage because "we are all children of God"
We are not all children of God we are all His creation. There is a big difference.
Many people look at it this way,It’s not a marriage because it’s not between man and woman, it is just a lust based relationship
@Chuck Norris' beard🇮🇱 I was in the same mind when Froski put that two things can be true regarding ssm, what the Pope said may have been intended to be from a govt standpoint, but he is the Pope and for him to put emphasis on it being okay in any way gives the catholic church license to interpret it as a compromise and can perform civil unions for parishioners at their discretion. Just my two cents..
Ig my parents are buddy buddy with the pastor and his wife now so they left me home alone while they go to their house for dinner
"bye... there's food in the fridge if you need it"
> I'm 17, I was raised on Christianity, ive decided for the time being to stay away from religion but now I feel like something is missing, I dont wanna go back to religion but I also don't wanna stay this way do yall have any advice? (Pls ping me in refrence to this(

Sorry if im late, u need to stop looking at Christianity as a religion rather look at it as a relationship to God.

I may not go back to religion at all tbh
