Hey guys, just a question. I’m not religious but I really like the vibe of churches and singing, so I was just wondering if you think it’s okay/respectful to go to church to just experience the vibe and atmosphere as an atheist?

2020-11-22 20:05:41 UTC

Churches just kinda make me feel safe tbh even though I’m not religious. Guess because they’re filled with love and nice people (:

2020-11-22 20:07:38 UTC

Go to church!

2020-11-22 20:08:18 UTC

I wouldn't advise going to church and demeaning the religion though

2020-11-22 20:08:25 UTC

@mo-me119 are you sure it’s respectful? I’m kinda worried about offending people if they find out im not religious

2020-11-22 20:08:47 UTC

No no of course, I love Christianity. I think it’s a wonderful religion. I’m just not a Christian myself

2020-11-22 20:08:51 UTC

I went to church before I was a believer. It's not disrespectful to go.

2020-11-22 20:09:10 UTC

Alright thanks. Just wary of offending people

2020-11-22 20:10:21 UTC

@roxymax1 just be open minded.

2020-11-22 20:10:23 UTC

The only way you would offend people is being disrespectful about Christianity. If you go with an open heart and mind, normal people shouldn't be offended

2020-11-22 20:12:56 UTC

Nah I’d never be disrespectful, especially in their own place of prayer

2020-11-22 20:13:09 UTC

Christianity is a wonderful religion

2020-11-22 20:13:13 UTC

A lot of nice people

2020-11-22 20:13:48 UTC

i was gone for 2 days and the religion chat just blew up

2020-11-22 20:14:16 UTC

Well we just like religion quite obviously lol

2020-11-22 20:14:40 UTC

It's never disrespectful, at least to me, to go and experience environments that impress you, even if you don't share every belief.

2020-11-22 20:15:11 UTC

@Alpha-57 Thank you, that makes me feel a lot better (:

2020-11-22 20:23:01 UTC

@roxymax1 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice before the Lord . For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth.
Psalms 96:11‭-‬13 NKJV

2020-11-22 23:04:20 UTC

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.
II Timothy 2:11‭-‬13 NKJV

This is my second favorite Bible verse

Why do so many churches in the states seem to emphasize missionary work outside of the USA when there is so much work that needs to be done inside the states?

2020-11-23 00:24:36 UTC

Because alot of the US is so particular about everything. The media in the US likes to twist everything to their controls and rid Christians for who knows what reason.

The media tries to make it out looking like we, the Christians are the bad person.

Often when we try missionary work in the US, it never ends well.

2020-11-23 00:24:50 UTC

Like they expect us to be ABSOLUTELY PERFECT

2020-11-23 00:26:20 UTC

That makes sense, it is something I've wondered about.

2020-11-23 00:28:55 UTC

Ye

2020-11-23 00:29:04 UTC

Its just my interpretation from what I've seen

2020-11-23 00:29:09 UTC

So I could be wrong or correct

2020-11-23 00:46:11 UTC

As someone whose denomination focuses heavily on missionary work, I can attest that those who are sent to areas in the US have a lot harder of a time and end up having some crazy stories.

I served in Guatemala, and illness was the worst thing to happen to me.

2020-11-23 01:26:23 UTC

My dad served a mission in Venezuela

2020-11-23 01:29:30 UTC

What did he say about it?

2020-11-23 01:29:46 UTC

Venezuela I mean

2020-11-23 01:44:34 UTC

Sad, our country is in trouble

2020-11-23 01:47:56 UTC

I couldn’t decide if this would qualify as a conspiracy theory or religion, but it feels less like a conspiracy theory and more like truth.

Well I think we are legitimately in the end times. Or they will come soon. Especially groups like the world economic forum publicly working for a “great reset” I think the concern is more valid than ever. It appears they are trying to establish the New world order. Look up their stuff and it’ll be the same things the “conspiracy theorists” have been saying for years. And well the antichrist will be the person that unites the nations. The WOF also supports several different things that are biblical prophecy. And it’s concerning. Also Donald trump is just controlled opposition. He spoke at a world economic forum event during his presidency, the same organization that supports globalism which is definitely not what trump campaigns on. Am I just being nuts or is there any credence to the theories.

Also it’s said no one knows the time of the end. But doesn’t that just mean the time of the rapture and not the end times in general?

2020-11-23 02:31:24 UTC

I believe we are nearing the end times, but have not yet entered the 7-year tribulation period. The Anti-Christ will appear at the beginning of the tribulation, being widely loved, and be almost as a "savior" to the world. But then later on in the tribulation, he will declare himself as god or like god, and be in the 3rd temple (that is not yet made, however they're almost all set to start building it). This is when the mark of the beast comes in, where anyone who does not accept the mark and 'worship' it's image, will not be able to buy or sell. Any Christians during this time will likely face death for their faith.
Although, I believe the rapture *(where all those who have died and those still alive in Christ, which are those that are saved, will be taken up into the clouds and Heaven to meet Jesus)* will take place either at the start of the tribulation, or be one of the final blows to the world which allows the Anti-Christ to come onto the world stage and make "peace" from the resulting chaos, therefore starting the 7-year tribulation.
