do you guys know the difference between southern Baptist and first Baptist cause the are so similar i cant tell

i go to both

but i guess i lean towards southern Baptist since thats my church family

Hmmm well I'm not sure if I'm either but I'd go with probably baptist. It's ultimately up to you though.

Um Baptist and Catholics very greatly in some important beliefs. It's not like picking a cellphone. Baptist believe that when you are saved you can not lose your salvation and when you die you go straight to heaven because Christ died and paid for your sins on the cross. In contrast, Catholics believe in purgatory. There are also other doctrinal beliefs that are contradictory.

Why can’t we just go by what the Bible says, you can’t just pick and choose what to believe

because everyone likes to read it their own way

People can take anything in the bible and cherry pick it to suit their argument

Even Islam is able to cherry pick parts of the new and old testament to back up their beliefs.

They believe it’s corrupt so using it as an argument doesn’t make sense

Actually their own text in parts confirm the true old the new and old testament but then elsewhere says it's been corrupted.

All while their own text has chunks missing, including a whole chapter that was conveniently eaten by a sheep.

What's the difference between first baptist and southern baptist

First is not necessarily a sub-Denomination

A lot of Baptist churches including Southern Baptist churches have first in their name

I am a Missionary Baptist myself

My church is called First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church

I can say I'm Protestant leaning but as to what specific denomination, I haven't decided, nor do I care where I land.
