@JJ04 The entire story of the Bible, of the World, is of God's children being harassed, persecuted, and throttled by the agents and temptations of Sin. God, being the merciful maverick He is, will not let that happen forever. What existence is and has been from Creation until Judgement Day is a test, placing His children in a fallen World to see if they will stick to His Word and remain pious until death. When Judgement Day comes, God will free us from this cycle of testing and finally make the final call: who is holy, who is unholy, who goes to Heaven, who goes to Hell; the ultimate lesson of the entire cosmos is taught.

God will not *destroy* everything, any actual destruction will be wrought by us and Satan. God will simply step back and let Hell come in, sifting out the hearts of men and finding who is able to handle the worst punishment and able to remain faithful. God's only role in Armageddon is to rebuild, by stepping in at the very end and defeating Satan, rebuilding the World, and merging Heaven and Earth again in one fell swoop. That is the basis and central idea of Christian theology and eschatology.

Regarding signs and stuff: that shit is a bunch of malarkey. There is absolutely zero signs that anyone can interpret, and when you look into the textual background of Revelations the most conservative estimate of how it originated was as an anti-Roman mushroom trip by John of Patmos. Eschatology was already firmly established in the Gospels, and Revelations is just an unnecessary addition. This is why I never dable in eschatology, and why I firmly roll my eyes at people who do: it's not just stupid, but not worth it.

sounds like it would make a good book

2020-12-01 17:33:01 UTC

and that is your opinion you dont have to bring the attitude with it

2020-12-01 17:33:27 UTC

Yes and it's called the Bible

2020-12-01 17:33:46 UTC

Moron

2020-12-01 17:33:52 UTC

😎

2020-12-01 17:33:59 UTC

Does god "test"?

2020-12-01 17:34:05 UTC

He does the SAT yes

2020-12-01 17:34:20 UTC

How do you think He became God?

2020-12-01 17:34:22 UTC

He passed God school

2020-12-01 17:34:25 UTC

Or so the Mormons say

2020-12-01 17:34:39 UTC

but then satan himself scrapped godschool right

2020-12-01 17:34:42 UTC

he was the only student

2020-12-01 17:34:48 UTC

what

2020-12-01 17:35:02 UTC

god was the only one who graduated god school

2020-12-01 17:35:10 UTC

yeah...

2020-12-01 17:35:12 UTC

mostly because of his name god

2020-12-01 17:35:21 UTC

and then satan scrapped god school.

2020-12-01 17:35:55 UTC

you think the world wars were ''tests'' to see if men stayed close to god even in death-close times?

2020-12-01 17:36:21 UTC

Well

2020-12-01 17:36:23 UTC

God doesn't send the tests

2020-12-01 17:36:26 UTC

We create them

2020-12-01 17:36:33 UTC

God didn't create the conditions for WW2

2020-12-01 17:36:33 UTC

We did

2020-12-01 17:36:54 UTC

We can free ourselves of this cycle, however, through Christian living

2020-12-01 17:37:00 UTC

*That's* the test

2020-12-01 17:38:16 UTC

if you do what is right will you not be accepted? but if you do not do what is right sin is crouching at your door and desires to have you, but you must master it. Genesis 4:7

2020-12-01 17:39:36 UTC

Quoting Genesis lol

2020-12-01 17:39:53 UTC

is there a problem with that

2020-12-01 17:40:00 UTC

The context delegitimizes your use of the verse

2020-12-01 17:40:11 UTC

no it doesnt

2020-12-01 17:40:17 UTC

Yes it does

2020-12-01 17:40:29 UTC

> The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
>
> 6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

2020-12-01 17:40:55 UTC

How does the full context not still apply?

2020-12-01 17:41:07 UTC

It's not anything about doing what is right in the context of Chrisitan living

2020-12-01 17:41:11 UTC

it doesnt change the meaning of the verse at all

2020-12-01 17:41:18 UTC

It's about God telling Cain "yo home boy stop being so salty I like your brother more than you"

2020-12-01 17:41:36 UTC

It's about jealousy

2020-12-01 17:41:42 UTC

That's your understanding.

2020-12-01 17:41:47 UTC

Bitch no it aint
