The C8 doesnt excite me tbh
I prefer my cars to be as mechanical and simple as possible, so naturally anything new turns me off
Yes
Electronics, to me, just add another annoying layer of troubleshooting
My car is a 2013 but it still uses an ls motor
Which is simple enough for me to do shit on it
I couldnt own anything that new
I too like simplicity and stuff that’s easy to mess with but I’ve got to say gm did it right on this one
Just cross your fingers that the cylinder deactivation system doesn't crap out on ya
Lol yeah that would suck
My eventual goal is to be as late 60s or older with my whole vehicle fleet
Wow
What do you daily drive
A 98 ford ranger
Oh yeah
You said
With the 4.0 ohv and 4wd
Yeah
Like I said though, nobody really gives a rats ass about the truck
Yeah I mean you see a million of them but I can appreciate a nice reliable vehicle
It has been reliable
I had a 2004 mustang gt
Which was
Not reliable
At all
I wouldn't touch most fords tbh. Not even the post-70 mustangs
I like some of their trucks but thats pretty much it
Why’s that
Some cases, their quality control, but mostly because I grew up GM
Familiarity, if nothing else
Small block chevy is about the greatest thing in the automotive world, as far as I'm concerned. It's simple, versatile, easy to buy into and maintain, can build it for reliability or for gobs of horsepower and torque
Parts are all over the place for it
Yep
I’d say the greatest engine ever made
The LS is awesome too, but I just prefer the raw mechanical simplicity of a carbureted engine with a mechanical fuel pump and a distributor
No computer, no smog
Everything you need to run the engine and nothing extra
Yep
