Virtually every single one of those or similar I've ever seen is clapped out
And 99% of them are riced out and sticker bombed with hentai stickers
I see some that are mostly stock, but it’s really too bad a lot of these are all riced out...
Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a nice JDM build but holy crap, they all are ricers out here except for my buddy's 240
His is pretty clapped out but he's got an RB25 in it
I just wish people actually knew what they were getting into with these cars... They are getting pretty rare due to these ricers doing bad things to the engines and getting in wrecks because they can’t drift...
It’s just hard to see...
damn brother, that sounds awesome!
The idle speed sounds fantastic
Solid lifter cam 350 with a holley double pumper
It sounds even better in person
no clue what that means, my only exp with cars is basic maintenance and I kinda helped my dad install a throttle body once :/
but it does sounds beautiful
I can explain, if you want
sure, I want to learn
I'll start with "holley double pumper"
This is the name for a series of carburetors made by Holley. The carburetor blends the air/ fuel mixture
It's called a "double pumper" because it has two accelerator pumps, which spray a shot of fuel into the engine when you step on the gas
mk, I think ik what your talking about
Don't be fooled, they're quite simple in construction
is that brass flap the throttle body, or is it something else?
the square one on top I mean
It's something called a "choke butterfly"
mk
This cuts off some airflow to help the engine warm up when its cold
I took mine out though
gotcha
y would you remove it though?
They can be unreliable
ok
I find it's easier and more fun to hold the engine at part throttle for a few seconds after it starts up and then let it idle
Not much, we're only talking like 1500 rpm
gotcha
I am guessing that is not something a lot of modern cars have?
They haven't used carburetors on cars in over 30 years
The people today who still use them are mainly relegated to classics
huh, thats something new
