@Thomas4peyton AHA! Another Blender user! How it’s going bro!
It’s going good @ChristianChicken1089! Only 2 1/2+ years of suffering from lack of motivation! ^^
I used blender like a year or two ago and I made like two things and I haven’t used it since lol. My profile pic was made in blender though
the donut tutorial, lol
Yeah, I did the donut tutorial before I knew how to use blender well. Couldn’t make the donut. But I got the cup! I should remake this sometime...
I suffer from a severe case of LOM (Lack of motivation), Lol. So I hardly get anything done either.
i feel the vibe, i really do
I feel that. Also when I did the tutorial I followed each stop extremely close and I didn’t really allow myself to actually learn the program, that was a bit annoying
I watched about a dozen tutorials and didn't follow them, just gleaned the useful keybinds/methodology/technique
Then I practiced said keybinds and their uses for two weeks to get my muscle memory down before I created my first model. x3
I feel that, dude...
Im sure i could be far better if i had modeled 3-4 times every week or so, but its hard to keep up a schedule of modeling and continued practice.
I started Blender and I need to keep watching the tutorials over and over because I keep forgetting how to to things. I eventually gave up.
Honestly, i should start a bootleg tutorial series on the uber basics of what is useful.
Stick to the grid at all costs, Orthographic view is your friend, find ample references or diagrams, Control + B is godly helpful, etc..
*Practice is everything*
Yeah, I am about to start working on an animated short but modeling is really difficult. I’m just gonna start practicing every day I guess.
I’ve considered doing YouTube tutorials for blender but I’m not good enough, yet.
If you do some, id definitely sub to ya
This is my best model so far
@Thomas4peyton I would def watch a tutorial like that
Well, I could even just do a livestream series, because I’m really not proficient enough at editing to save myself. XD
Nice car, lol. Smooth curves and organically are my bane of existence, I’m no good at them.
Man, wish I could make something like that.
I’d make my car in Gran Turismo 2 style.
That looks *slightly* better. I was never much for lighting setups.. x3
@Thomas4peyton Tutorials really don’t require much editing. Just a few cuts maybe. Idk maybe I could edit it for you if you really wanted?
Perhaps, if i ever find time to do a tutorial.
Yeah, It’s a very time consuming thing.
But, AMAZING train btw!
Yeah, it’s really cool!
thanks, I actually just sent it off to my boss to get the cab interior details done, then textures, animations, and eventual implementation into the game we are workin' on.
GAME?!?! BOSS?!?!
This is going to be in a game?!?!
Way past cool!
Yea, its a work in progress game. The main theme/focus is 3' narrow gauge logging/mining railroads in the western US, starting roughly in the year 1895.
so this locomotive will probably be second-hand by the time the game takes place, considering the IRL prototype(s) were built in the year 1880/1
Pretty vibin’
Thanks \:)
