when you pull back its a natural response for them to hold on harder

2020-09-29 16:56:16 UTC

Do have one of those string toy things or whatever they’re called?

2020-09-29 16:56:28 UTC

Like an animal on a stick that u drag around and they chase after

2020-09-29 16:56:31 UTC

so I would say "hey" maybe go "TSSSSS" at him, or grab him gently by the scruff, without yanking your hand away

2020-09-29 16:56:38 UTC

and yeah, toys might be better if he gets carried away all the time

2020-09-29 16:56:41 UTC

yeah, i have one thats a catnip flavor one and some old basket yarn

2020-09-29 16:57:09 UTC

and when he starts getting rough, you stop playing immediately for the time being. because continuing sends the "okay, nothing wrong here"

2020-09-29 16:57:14 UTC

Yeah try something like that, my cat loves beating up her little string thing

2020-09-29 16:57:44 UTC

get him a big thing he can grab on and attack and all that, like a stuffed animal but one of the toy kinds thats actually tough. then he can grab on to it and all that lol.

2020-09-29 16:57:55 UTC

alright thank you, what if he doesnt stop though?

2020-09-29 16:58:02 UTC

its like he has a taste for me

2020-09-29 16:58:16 UTC

Something like that

2020-09-29 16:58:19 UTC

speaking of the little devil, he jumped up and is biting my hand while i type

2020-09-29 16:58:27 UTC

Um probably just play with him more

2020-09-29 16:59:00 UTC

if he doesnt stop, you need to grab him by the scruff so you can separate yourself, get a spray bottle for some water if he REALLY gets bad.

2020-09-29 16:59:06 UTC

but he gets scared when i play, i shake my hands down his side only brushing his fur gently and he looks at me like "wtf" and leaves

2020-09-29 16:59:17 UTC

ignoring can help, or gently petting him and saying "no" if he tries to get rough

2020-09-29 16:59:23 UTC

just try to calm him.

2020-09-29 16:59:29 UTC

seems like he doesnt like his sides being pet

2020-09-29 16:59:38 UTC

stick to the top of his head and his back

2020-09-29 17:00:02 UTC

just like people, individual animals have boundaries

2020-09-29 17:00:14 UTC

Yeah and probably avoid the belly too

2020-09-29 17:00:26 UTC

My cat is the same way

2020-09-29 17:00:38 UTC

She hates her sides and belly being pet

2020-09-29 17:00:45 UTC

my old cat let me rub his belly like a dog, but he did NOT like being picked up in anyway, at all. not if it was comfortable, not if it gave him more control, just not at all. but I could rub his belly all day long.

2020-09-29 17:00:51 UTC

he likes it sometimes on the belly, if i pet his back he'll roll over and purr very loudly, othertimes he thinks its plaign

2020-09-29 17:01:09 UTC

and I have another cat you could only pet on the head, and she wouldnt mind being picked up at all. just couldnt pet her and rub her down anywhere

2020-09-29 17:01:20 UTC

Get him a little mouse toy

2020-09-29 17:01:21 UTC

and I have another cat you could only pet on the head, and she wouldnt mind being picked up at all. just couldnt pet her and rub her down anywhere

2020-09-29 17:01:30 UTC

My cat has one and she plays with it all the time

2020-09-29 17:01:42 UTC

She’s constantly batting it around

2020-09-29 17:01:46 UTC

mine only really plays when he has the zoomys

2020-09-29 17:01:46 UTC

yeah, seems he has a hard time separating pets and play. probably didnt get a lot of time with siblings when he was a kitten

2020-09-29 17:02:00 UTC

Yea

2020-09-29 17:02:07 UTC

so you can look up stuff on youtube about how to separate those things and get actual expert advice/video tutorial advice on how to separate those things

2020-09-29 17:02:11 UTC

Give it time

2020-09-29 17:02:23 UTC

i got him at 5 months, and hes always been really nice and open, but not to dogs. he hates dogs

2020-09-29 17:02:50 UTC

understandable

2020-09-29 17:03:04 UTC

sometimes its either a bad experience, or absolutely no experience with dogs that can make them like that
