The MiG-25 Foxbat was designed to intercept the XB-70 Valkyrie.

As for the Foxhound I'm not entirely sure if it was designed to intercept the Blackbird.

It was supposed to kill satellites but fended off the Blackbird very well

And it's still the best interceptor today

Today it's used against recon aircraft (RQ-170 and etc...) and heavy aircraft (B-1, B-52, etc...).
It is also used against ballistic and cruise missiles.
It can also kill ships with a hypersonic AGM.

as i see it. we are a wery small country. with wery limited budget. and limited airports. that will serttainly go even before we know whats happening.

still as a allmost daily reminder ( i have no ideer its rarely gettign reported on) they send planes and ships that are training. to rush our borders. and turn away in like just before they crosses the line. so we have to scramble. and repell them. and for that i think F35 is not well suited.
