@Large H I think it depends on the culture. For example, in Vietnam, Southern and Central vietnamese tend to work on stuffs more while the northern vietnamese is very academia type and are clueless of fixing their own house (Lmao my dad keeps threatening he is going to retire early but i CANT imagine him not working).
Her excuse is that she's black and I'm racist (bc I disagee w her)

@isoboto Lol my dads side is from italy and germany
> So yeah
@( ಠ ͜ʖರೃ) I hope this isnt a commonly occurring favourite past time lmao
My dad retired after 43 years of farming, he's been self employed for the past 5 doing home construction. He can't stop himself from moving. He works outside for 8 hours a day if he's not doing something else.
We're German and Scottish, with a bit of Irish if I remember right.

@( ಠ ͜ʖರೃ) she is true though. Go apologize to her immediately and offer to wash her feet and recuse your racism
thats so cool @Large H
ur dad sounds great!
> @isoboto Lol my dads side is from italy and germany
@Poseidenforce hey, idk Italy and Germany cultures. Italians are supposed to be romantic and one of the attractive aspect is resourceful, while German the language is like shouting, which is macho and therefore would also value resourcefulness. Another thing is that I often find people with roots in the countryside or grow up poor tend to be very versatile, but that's just me.
> ur dad sounds great!
@Poseidenforce Haha, he's a pain in my ass some days. (I'm kidding, me and him mess around and hang out most of the time when there's nothing going on. I try to stay busy with him when I can)

@Large H all dads are like that tho right?

@Large H similar situation with my dad. Normally he works 2 jobs but he also works as an electrician during the weekend. Now we are renovating our house and is down in the basement from evening to midnight. He physically cant stop working lmao

Yea, all good dads are similar. plenty of dad jokes and good work ethic it seems.
We've been busy here, quarentine has my dad really antsy it seems. We've cleaned out the attic, painted rooms/the outside of the hours. Mowed the yard once a week which takes way to long and he's been buying stuff every week for the past few months.

@Large H out of curiosity but did you guy ever experience a rift in your relationship with you dad? Maybe the dynamic between a father-daughter is different from a father-son, but there was a period where my dad and I cant even be in the same room together without me feeling vaguely claustrophobic

@Large H yeah. We also got super busy since the quarantine. Our backyard becomes a dumpster because we ripped everything in the basement out
@isoboto oh my goodness your right, better go back and beg forgiveness
When I was like 6-9 it was hard, he'd just retired from work and we felt distant. He was more than likely stressed about 08 and finances. But me and him have grown a lot closer in the past 5 years.

@Large H that's good, im happy for you that it worked out. My dad and I were also only kind of mend our relationship 5 years ago, but we are learning to chill out. He doesnt work office time here so he doesnt feel pent up as much

@isoboto for me... honestly rn is when my dad and i are going throught a rough time in our relationship but its not horrid
we usually get over ourselves after a while
However, right now I will say my dad likes to troll me about Biden winning and how Nancy will help put America back on the right track. (he voted republican the entire way down the ballot.) So, yea. he likes his fun and games and it's hard sometimes but I live with it.
LOL
thats great😆
> we usually get over ourselves after a while
@Poseidenforce that's awesome! Relationship goal
tbh it breaks my heart to hear how many fatherless homes there are in America
Fathers are a necessary pillar of society
People need to learn that
ik but litterally the left supports the opposite for hispanic and african communities
so i guess fathers are technically on the ballot to
