So you get accused of being racist (usually for no reason other than just being a trump supporter)
So you typically say something like "that's not right, I hang out with black/Brown friends every weekend with no issue"

We're talking about people who are intellectually dishonest. They're not looking for the truth, they're looking for someone they can point to and say "they are the bad guy, I'm a good person"
It's the same argument it comes to abortion. You can point to the science, you can point to the confirmed psychological damage it does to the person getting the abortion and they won't care. It's about how *they* feel.
