definitely. I'm amazed that people think it's racist to limited the people coming into our country and instead having them in based on merits? like??? what's your logic
I believe in easy immigration, but building a wall isn’t a bad idea
I believe in immigration only if you love the values of the country.
Yeah
If you are an enemy of the country, you are OUT.
Im partially from family of German immigrants who escaped socialism to come to the us
So from East Germany
Ye
You know why I actually hate socialism? Bribery, nepotism and bureaucracy.
I hate socialism cause I couldn’t get rich in a socialist society and cause it’s not sustainable
Bribery as in “hey, I will give you this, now give me some privilege”, nepotism as in “I managed to do this because I know someone who knows someone, and that someone knows someone who works in the government, enjoy” and bureaucracy because, let’s say I want to sign an authorization for my shop. I go to the competent authority to try and sign it, and I go to the wicket which is for shop authorizations. Then, the fat lady from the wicket tells me “to go to the Ministry of Business”, so I go there. There, they tell me to go back to where I started. And so on.
They make it overly complicated for no actual reason!

Socialism literally can’t and never will be implemented correctly.
Indeed
Can someone help me with a debate against taxation ?
Emphasis on the "burning" part in the second part
"government exists to put necessary parameters on people"
i wonder where those parameters end....
Government can't figure out how to spend taxpayer money responsibly. they waste billions of tax money on the dumbest shit
like here locally they used over 100,000 of covid relief funds for new electronics for some sort of soccer game or something
government is the rich daddy, government officials have the credit card and spend money like it's comin out of their ass
And they tax minors
tax minors?
ooh fun
like we make money anyway
@Lockwood Studios not sure if you had moved on from the taxation debate -- but here is my 2 cent: ask the person what the government had been good at running? most of what the government runs generally are very bad (ie. a lot of bureaucracy, inefficient, not enough), infrastructures took forever to built/fixed (on the local level), funding the military (on the federal level), etc. have there any social program that have been running for long that actually made a positive impact? for example, subsidies for single mothers (we've MORE single-mother households than ever). if my tax is going toward things i don't approve, i'd like to retain my earnings as much as possible.
if you want, do a bit digging and look into taxation in other counties. they'd probably bring up european countries (which, btw, the amount of bureaucracy there is mind-numbing). in vietnam, the tax is quite lax but the minor fees added up (ie. you have to have permits and bribes and etc.) plus the price of goods keep climbing upward every new year due to "traditions".
you can also look at historic tax where the rate was 2%, etc. you can also suggest alternative tax system. or point out flaws in the current federal tax where all the terrible states such as NY or NJ are sucking in money and incentivize the states with good books to keep carrying the states with bad books without pressure for bad states to change.
you can also go the 100% selfless route. alright, so let's say tax works perfectly. we should start with the people that are advocating pro-tax or hiking up tax. why don't the person willing to give up all of their earning to the state? why only stopping at 60%? why don't they give 100% of their earning to their local place and "save the teachers, save the elderly" etc?
Thank you
Minors have to pay income tax. It's taxation without representation.
everybody with a job pays income tax.
Unless you're really smart <:dogekek:726878872607653918>
when i was like 14 i worked in my neighborhood mowing the lawns of houses that were for sale
paid in cash
but i didn't understand anything about taxes back then so
When you learned about taxes you were like WTF IS THIS nonsense
a lot of people really feel it when they get their first paycheck
I was about to say we should make it law to show where every dollar goes... then i realized we'd need to expand the government to do that lol
