All of these blanket solutions suffer from the exact same problem - lockdowns being a very good example. Another example is anti-encryption laws. Anti-encryption laws stop anybody who owns a computer from using encryption technology. Essentially, it ends up preventing normal citizens from using something that they do no harm by using and the people that are actually using it to conceal illegal stuff can still use it anyways, through illegal means. The same story for gun control laws. They're all stupid and bad solutions.
