Yeah it's real
Beat me to it.
So I agree and disagree. A lot of people saying reform don’t know much about police, nor do I but I have been following and independently researching it for years. I believe things like “choke holds” do need to be banned. But also, there is a reason the policies and laws police departments follow exist. (Ex Penn vs Mimms, US Supreme Court Case). I don’t believe much needs to be reformed but more needs to be focused towards training, de escalation tactics (not necessarily usable in every scenario) and rooting out bad apples
What happened to my reply
There was a post on twitter I saw earlier imma go see if I can find it
Above message is reply to this
I dont think he's gonna get much from I bumped x <:KEK:726877368601411624>
I agree on a police reform but we dont know what to change to make them much considerably better
Like if its anything racial than it literally wont change anything. Heck they might be more reluctant to go aggressive on a black person because you will get canceled if you are one
From what I know of the police force (in Aus at least) it relies on fines a lot for its funding (especially speeding). I believe that this is not ideal and that it should recieve a lot more, if not all of its funding from government to have an effective police force.
Unless the black person is a trump supporter than your in the clear
We don’t know what to change because no one outside of law enforcement knows much about how it works and why it works the way it does. You can read about it all you want on paper and you still wouldn’t truly understand it
If things were changed to not rely on people breaking the law to to stop people from breaking the law, it'd be a lot more effective.
Kinda off-topic, but I wanted to rant.
It is very difficult to make people comply with the law
@Vice-God Emperor Cider well australian police also arrest you for going to pro life rallies
Especially with people who thinks a few google searches makes them lawyers

Like harsher sentences wouldn't do anything because people are who do crime are very desperate people and a year or 2 longer in prison isnt gonna do anything
Look man, speed limit is 100km per hour, with 5km tolerance. If you go outside of that tolerance, you're clearly speeding. Half your demerit points, big fine. Clearly defined laws with harsh punsihments.
I agree with that, but it would be a step in the right direction (I believe).
I believe harsh sentences on violent crime/aiding in it. That’s more legal system than it is law enforcement agencies though
Australia is very proficient at mental gymnastics.
Drug cases for sure are infective, not sure about robbery and murder
@Vice-God Emperor Cider that's two small of a tolerance. In my opinion I think that it would make it more dangerous because people are always going it be looking at the speedometer instead of the road.
I think drug sentences should be shorter, and out time and funds towards programs for drug addicts, that being said a lot of people will refuse help such as rehabilitation programs
I can imagine people saying that the cars malfunctioned
It doesn't have to be that exact law and penalty, but do you agree with the idea that it should be changed to not rely on people breaking the law to fund the force that stops people breaking the law?
Yea I think cartels should be punished more than anyone, users not so much, maybe a fine is good enough. Smugglers should be shorter
See above reply.
Yeah that ridiculous.
I think anyone distributing should be longer, regular users shorter
Supplying and creating a drug should have a harsher punishment than distribution. Refer to pirating of movies and music.
The people distributing and making the drugs are the source of the issue
With everything, really.
I do agree. Yea drug smugglers, harvesters. Are the ones who are taking advantage of mentally I'll people for drugs
Even lots of petty crime, a lot of people do petty theft and stuff for money for drugs
If someone made a rehabilitation center here, I doubt a lot of homeless people will use it since they are on welfare and stay on the streets
With regards to welfare, the biggest c*ck up NZ made wasn't letting in a bunch of islanders without any background checks. It was giving them welfare so that they didn't have to work.
Both smugglers and makers are the problem but I agree makers aren't doing it because they steal desperate but smugglers, a lot are desperate
