alcohol is a depressant and used for a long time
If it's really 300k people. As I said, I might be exaggerating, the rough idea is still there. It could easily be less and still have a big impact.
The most dangerous part of the cigarettes is the tar, which serriously fucks up the lungs, i imagine burning weed probably make some tar too, if not as much perhaps
Honestly I thought NZ had a lot more people
Isn't a cigarette only marginally made of tobacco, and the rest is just tar and other stuff?
Other chemicals as well
Here natives use tobacco to cleanse themselves. Not sure how relevant it is to the conversation but
Tar is just a byproduct of burning anything, but all the extra crap in cigerates contributes to making a lot more tar then just straight tobacco
Holy crap I was wrong, 5 million. Where did all the people go?
That's my point, thanks for making it more clear.
No problem
Idk is New Zealand one of those places where it's very sparse
@2Lazy2BeOriginal It's actually near 300k.
The unemployment?
NZ is like a 1/3 of the size of TX. Also it's an island.
The welfare.
I dont mind people on welfare too much but if they dont have a job. I have a big problem with it
From lockdown, unemployment was near 150k in September. Obviously getting better now.
That's the problem we had with all the immigrants: they didn't have to work, so they didn't.
Man I hate people who take advantage of welfare
I hate the way a lot of states have it setup, so that getting a job can actually make you worse off than being unemployed
Like there is a lot of people on welfare here. My dad is a rents out houses and this one person went to our house to demand to change something since my dad got government money
It f#cks the country, it f#cks the family and it f#cks you too.
I feel it should be more of a gradual cutoff then just striaght cut all at once with increasing income from having a job
When my parents first came here, they were on welfare but now they aren't anymore
By here, do you mean your region or Canada as a whole?
Here in winnipeg. The people who are on welfare are usually natives
Sound similar to where i live in the US
May I ask which state?
We did a lot of bad things to them but making them dependentt on welfare is not helping
Idaho
Welfare is a everyone loses but the greedy basically
By greedy do you mean the 'leading class'?
Oh I mean the people on welfare since taxpayers have to pay for people on welfare
And that's basically everyone but those on welfare
I'd rather have a powerful and prosperous state, but we lose a few along the way, than what's happening in some places, where everyone is miserable and nobody wins.
I would make that you have to be a citizen of the country for at least 1 year, and have be too laid off, or fired due to medical reasons from a job to receive welfare, and you only receive it for a full year.
You only get it if you deserve it.
If you're a refugee, fleeing war?
I would include a clause that if you get a job the benefits would gradually drop off instead of all it once, so people won't be discouraged from working
I'd much rather have a prosperous state with some bad people on welfare than everyone who is equally poor but the government
