what does male mean? ah yes it's related to sex
men is the plural of a man so
1 and 1 together makes them wrong
I'm not gonna bother trying to dig deeper sorry
hmm?
you think men and women are gender things?
maybe it was the definition I found online
I found others where men and women are related to sex, it's complicated
my definition came from Oxford English so might have been changed during 1776 to gender lol
yea I think the definition wouldn't vary this much a decade ago
I'm trying to see which website I got the definition from brb
so is boy and girl also a gender to them?
a male child or young man. according to google
yeah so
seems like they were just lazy and didn't bother typing into google
I guess they omitted it to make one gender and another sex
it's also my fault for trusting that
i mean a good question to ask is are boy and men both genders?
so your gender changes as your grow up or
men isn't age dependant whereas boy is
a man is age dependant no?
well it's more common with older people so yea I guess
don't call a 1 yo girl a women
you call her a girl
I was thinking more so as people as a whole. like men's right, not boys rights
well good point
but for a single person or just 5 people, better to say men or boy based off age
but boys and girls have their rights dictated by their parents to some extent
so you could argue it like that
of course there are rights for people who are younger but
if it's a lot than men would be more
I see your argument, the men right is a government and socieity level
agree. which is where it gets dicey. people that have awful parents would be more likely to view parents as negative and removable, while people with decent or good parents would be more likely to view parents as important. furthermore, "awful"/"decent" is different depending by perspective or influences
like say if you're going to sexist to your son or something then that doesn't really matter compared to the workplace
sure it's not good but
in other words, if there's a huge variations with ages, than use men, if there isn't used one based off which one makes sense
schools really should teach how to parent
well i feel like boys and men are used often and that's why they're in the language and most often you can say one or the other
say at work you'll use men and women compared to school you'll use boys and girls
it makes sense why boys and men exist
