@Meryl.140.15 the 1918 pandemic was a particular strain of the common bacterial influenza that was far worse than the normal strain, in the same way covid-19 is a particularlly bad strain of covid

2020-10-30 15:12:20 UTC

the point is the side effects of masks are dangerous

2020-10-30 15:12:46 UTC

did you read any of it?

2020-10-30 15:15:29 UTC

oh that's right i forgot we have antibiotics now so it's OK if we catch other illnesses while feebly attempting to prevent a different illness.

2020-10-30 15:16:24 UTC

nooo thanks i'm gonna breathe beautiful oxygen

2020-10-30 15:17:47 UTC

that was my friends defense on masks and bacterial pneumonia "well we have antibiotics now"

2020-10-30 15:20:26 UTC

so, how do surgeons who workin in a mask for up to 24 hours, while doing a surgery, masks are a ok. Yes I have read multiple medical reports on how masks work, and they agree on two things, A) the only danger of wearing a mask is not washing it, B) it is 80% effective at stopping the covid 19 virus from being breathed in.

2020-10-30 15:20:51 UTC

that's not the only danger

2020-10-30 15:21:01 UTC

elabroate

2020-10-30 15:21:04 UTC

please

2020-10-30 15:21:07 UTC

you're breathing in everything you exhale and everything you exhale shouldn't be breathed back in

2020-10-30 15:21:51 UTC

and you breathe in less oxygen

2020-10-30 15:23:13 UTC

all that crap in your mask is going back into your lungs

2020-10-30 15:23:37 UTC

everything you exhale is CO2 which multible studies have shown escape through the mask and the only other thing you breath out is particles of water and things chilling in you mouth from when you breathed in. And the holes in a mask are in no way gas tight, so O2 can get in easily and CO2 can get out.

2020-10-30 15:23:48 UTC

not to mention that facemasks don't prevent covid from going through

2020-10-30 15:24:13 UTC

lol!

2020-10-30 15:24:34 UTC

ok well you can believe that masks work if you want but i'm not killing myself with one

2020-10-30 15:26:46 UTC

face masks have no proven negative effects, but can prevent 80% of covid

2020-10-30 15:26:52 UTC

although it is true that medical masks work to some degree, its also true that it is only when they are rendered sterile and more specifically the effective kind are the n95 which have a seal around the nose and mouth, preventing particles from making their way around the mask. The problem with masks that most people wear is that they are not sterile besides the first use and because people touch them so much they are actually putting themselves at more risk of infection

2020-10-30 15:27:02 UTC

but they do have negative effects

2020-10-30 15:27:04 UTC

that's the point

2020-10-30 15:27:56 UTC

i'm not getting into an argument about it, you can live with your little masks and i'll live without one

2020-10-30 15:28:03 UTC

agree to disagree

2020-10-30 15:28:07 UTC

@The Guy Behind You even though they have some side, non vacuum sealed places, most particles you will encounter are face on, even though the n95 is more effetive, even a cloth mask heaps

2020-10-30 15:29:06 UTC

it's difficult to sift through the BS to find the truth

2020-10-30 15:29:43 UTC

It is true that cloth masks prevent larger particulates from escaping, however it is only the medical grade masks that have the specific permeability that prevents things as small as viruses to make it through

2020-10-30 15:29:43 UTC

even more difficult when experts use their expertise to manipulate

2020-10-30 15:30:14 UTC

but they dont seal around your face, which is why in medical settings they use n95 masks with medical grade cloth masks on top of them

2020-10-30 15:30:46 UTC

yeah, but still the study found double layer cloth masks to be the one who gets 80% effective rates

2020-10-30 15:31:16 UTC

The proven science is that masks help to prevent the spread when worn by those who are sick, but do not prevent those who are not sick from contracting it

2020-10-30 15:31:24 UTC

yeah n95 are better, but double layer cloth still work

2020-10-30 15:31:39 UTC

and its only sterile medical grade masks that have been proven to prevent spread to some degree

2020-10-30 15:31:56 UTC

@The Guy Behind You ooh because the medical report I read said that it lowered you chances of contracting it by 80%

2020-10-30 15:32:27 UTC

that is with the sterile medical grade masks because they are designed specifically to have a low permeability

2020-10-30 15:32:32 UTC

@The Guy Behind You you can sterlize stuff, my doctor told my if you boil them and then wash ;em with soap its good as new

2020-10-30 15:33:15 UTC

yeah they work much better but cloth ones still work, because they are made of cloath with cloase enough knit

2020-10-30 15:33:25 UTC

Yes, you can sterilize them by exposing them to temperatures similar to that of a hospitals sterilizing washing machine

2020-10-30 15:34:22 UTC

the "homemade" or commercially available non-medical masks are not proven to prevent anything other than the spread of major particulates, those which are much larger than whats needed to spread viral infections\

2020-10-30 15:35:30 UTC

ok, but some are

2020-10-30 15:35:43 UTC

just look into a mask before you buy it
