That's why the news starts every covid story with "new record number of cases reported today!" Of course it's a new record, every new case is a new record, because it's a new virus. It's the way they present it for shock value.. lol

I heard that you can get covid once and test positive for it like 4 months after, even after you recover. My entire household and I contracted and recovered from covid (it really isn’t that bad) and we’re not gonna bother to re-test
