The swamp does not want any third parties disrupting their power duopoly
3rd parties are automatically having lesser chances than the big parties. What's up with the US and duopolies?
Great minds đ
Democrats and Republicans, Android and iOS, Windows and macOS, PC and Mac etc.
good observation. Probably because monopolies are illegal otherwise thatâs what theyâd go for lol
Seriously, people seem to enjoy only having two choices for no reason at all
Maybe it's the paradox about multiple choices
9 different brands would be too much for most people
I think 3-4 is the sweet spot
far left centre left
far right centre right
Correct.
But here we have Comcast and AT&T owning the narrative. The news and the way you access it (cable, dish, streaming)
Wait... AT&T even owns the NEWS?!
People are waking up to the fake news though
Sprinkle in Disney and the NYT and you mostly have it covered. I just donât get how all these ânewsâ outlets are aligned to push the same narrative. Or why
AT&T owns CNN
Yeah, RCS&RDS or Digi, which are a cable company in Romania, also have a news channel.
They're backed by the deep state
It's seemingly pro-COVID propaganda.
Comcast owns CNBC and NBC partner with Microsoft for MSNBC
Wait... Microsoft and Comcast own MSNBC?!
Yeah
Wow, imagine the ideas that Bill Gates would give to them
I remember when NBC and MSFT partnered up to take on CNN in cable news space. Mid 90s?
Most of our cable and satellite companies are... umm, so we have RCS&RDS (Digi), Vodafone (which bought UPC this year), Orange, Telekom (which bought our Romtelecom in 2013-2014, a bit before Klaus Iohannis was elected. Coincidence?!)
We also have AKTA, it's not a monopoly like the US cable market
For now
Thatâs the irony is they call conservatives fascists while they follow the fascist playbook in controlling the media and the news
I think??? Who knows what is hiding under the courtains?
^
Again, they're talking about themselves when they call us that
US cable is mostly a duopoly. I would say Time Warner cable (AT&T) and Comcast cable are the biggest. Between them they own many other providers too (ATT Uverse, Directv, Roku)
I have to look into COX communications Charter and a few other regional players to see if they are still independently owned
Disney owns ABC/ESPN and Viacom owns CBS
but they all pump the same narrative
Behind the scenes it's all the same people pulling the strings
So one big impact of this. Regardless of whether people watch CNN MSNBC or the others they will always be in every channel package whether you want it or not. The market mechanism doesnât exist because the cable company owns the network
CNN is channel 201 on Directtv but you have to scroll to like 1357 to find Fox News đ
Bruh.
