i know that our prisons and jails are better than some places though, ive watched some documentary's on "the most dangerous prisons"

there was this one prison, can't remember the country but basically prison didn't have enough money for guards so the prisons guarded themselves

People in prison want one thing, to get out. And when something stupid like a fight can add years on your sentence, as well as remove freedoms such as commissary privileges, fights are very rare.

im certainly not going to prison to try and find out who's right but I have some experience with criminals, especially addicts they are unpredictable and extremely impulsive.

You dont believe it because you believe what you are told. When you are told that prison is horrible, you get raped, you get murdered, etc, eventually you believe it. Its a scare tactic. Like marijuana propaganda.
