One of the parents in my old boyscouts troop had the last name Cook, i believe. He was in the marines and had some good stories. to bad his son was an absolute brat

Anyone have a family history of military service?

My granduncle served in the philippines during ww2

My grandfather was in the marines from 56-60 that's the only family member I can think of that was in the military

he was a resistance fighter though so the only proof we have of him fighting was this really old rifle in my dad's family house in manilla

That's pretty interesting Thicc. The only marines in my family are from my mothers step fathers side. Everyone else has been either Army, Navy and one Air Force

My brother and I are pretty much the first generation to not fight in a major war. I found documents and enlistment papers going all the way back to War of 1812

There was one in the Revolutionary War that could be related to us but I couldn't confirm it because of the lack of documentation

I cant find anything on my family from my moms side of the family pre Communist China

I don’t have any military in my family that I know of other than my father. But he served in and for England and left to come to America.

My dads side were farmers until War would break out, then they would return to farming
