I kinda want to go to switzerland

2020-11-01 23:52:42 UTC

I think you were a little too young to have guns there...

2020-11-01 23:52:45 UTC

i hear their gun laws are nice

2020-11-01 23:52:53 UTC

> I've been shooting since 6 and got a shotgun for my first birthday. Think I know a thing or two about guns.
@Stargatemaster96 lucky bastard

2020-11-01 23:53:17 UTC

I've seen and had a gun before, never shot it.

2020-11-01 23:53:22 UTC

> I think you were a little too young to have guns there...
@Rocci to young to purchase but not have a gun transferred to me in my state. I had a valid SS and no felonies.

2020-11-01 23:53:24 UTC

> I think you were a little too young to have guns there...
@Rocci Its actually better to teach children while they're younger about real firearms so they don't learn about it from a videogame

2020-11-01 23:53:38 UTC

Seems good.

2020-11-01 23:53:57 UTC

You can teach them... but don't give children weapons.

2020-11-01 23:54:07 UTC

its a good thing you havent needed to shoot a gun, disappointing you havent gotten to though.

2020-11-01 23:54:17 UTC

Remember, two more days until the general election!!

2020-11-01 23:54:23 UTC

> You can teach them... but don't give children weapons.
@P0ke If they are doing it to learn yes

2020-11-01 23:54:29 UTC

It wasn't like I had the gun in my room, it was kept in the family gun safe.

2020-11-01 23:54:31 UTC

but if to screw around then no

2020-11-01 23:54:59 UTC

not sure if it's safe. You have to wait until people get to a mature age, then they can practice dealing with firearms.

2020-11-01 23:55:14 UTC

Better to cement safety early.

2020-11-01 23:55:45 UTC

😔

2020-11-01 23:55:58 UTC

if you instill a sense of respect and common sense about the firearm at a young age, that will help make sure they dont grow up to be idiots regarding guns... dont just hand a child a gun and say have fun, more people would be less ignorant if they were taught about firearms as children.

2020-11-01 23:56:20 UTC

I can't really comment on guns, considering I've never owned a gun.. I'll leave this conversation up to the others.

2020-11-01 23:56:26 UTC

Not sure what age you think is a mature age but if your in cub scouts you are shooting BB guns your first year (1st grade). That said I was taught on a 22 before that.

2020-11-01 23:56:45 UTC

> if you instill a sense of respect and common sense about the firearm at a young age, that will help make sure they dont grow up to be idiots regarding guns... dont just hand a child a gun and say have fun, more people would be less ignorant if they were taught about firearms as children.
@Wardog You have to teach someone before you give them the firearm. You also need to wait until they're of mature age, it's dangerous.

2020-11-01 23:57:11 UTC

I can comment on gun homicides and fbi stats but other than that... :/

2020-11-01 23:57:26 UTC

What is the minimum age allowed for someone to buy a gun?

2020-11-01 23:57:29 UTC

My father was next to me the whole time while being taught, it wasn't like I was unsupervised.

2020-11-01 23:57:31 UTC

When I was a kid, and my parents did too, and so did many others, we had had airsoft guns and cap guns and all that sort of thing. those are dangerous as well if you do something stupid and put out your eye... but my parents treated airsoft gun like a real gun and I learned to respect firearms and firearm safety when with something that might not even leave a bruise.

2020-11-01 23:57:42 UTC

I remember the second time i went to Boyscout Camp that this cunt immediately got kicked out and almost sent home early because he flagged me and two others with the .22 even though the instructor drilled it in that the rifle was to be pointed down range at all times, hence emphasizing my point that teaching safety early on is better then learning from the videogame

2020-11-01 23:58:12 UTC

18 is the minimum age in Tennessee

2020-11-01 23:58:41 UTC

@P0ke whats a "mature" age? why not teach them to be intelligent about it as they mature? kids/teenagers have that very obvious and very common rebellious phase, so why not instill important lessons that they can carry with them even during that part of their life, and maybe some of the respect and discipline they are taught will carry over through that and make them not so snotty?

2020-11-01 23:58:47 UTC

I feel as long as you are able to pass a basic firearms safety test, you should be able to use a firearm

2020-11-01 23:59:04 UTC

asides from mental health tests and what not

2020-11-01 23:59:44 UTC

> 18 is the minimum age in Tennessee
@Lucario this was also many years ago

2020-11-01 23:59:46 UTC

a "mature" age is such an arguable thing... we become legal adults in America at 18, but cant drink or smoke till we're 21, but in Britain they can start drinking at 15/16, so whats a "mature" age? why wait until then when you can teach a lesson of discipline, respect, and safety earlier?

2020-11-02 00:00:42 UTC

Drinking and smoking age should be 18

2020-11-02 00:01:00 UTC

@Lucario the tennessee website also says "There is no minimum age to possess rifles and shotguns in Tennessee."

2020-11-02 00:01:03 UTC

if you can enlist into the military and risk your life overseas, you should be able to drink or smoke.

2020-11-02 00:01:15 UTC

I'm 27 and can pass a background check when I buy a gun so I am not sure if the minimum age has changed

2020-11-02 00:01:24 UTC

> Drinking and smoking age should be 18
@TazerLazer If your old enough to die for your country at that age, you can smoke and get wasted too

2020-11-02 00:01:29 UTC

Ye

2020-11-02 00:02:19 UTC

I'm 24 so I can buy/background check my own guns to but the 90s were less strict.

2020-11-02 00:05:12 UTC

@P0ke if you still want to debate we can discuss something besides guns.

2020-11-02 00:11:21 UTC

Idk
