Chevy was going bankrupt and Chevy promised to stay in the US if they got bailed out. They broke their promise instantly shutting down all of their US factories and laying off all of their workers on Christmas and crashing economies that relied on the factory. They moved everything to China and Mexico since.

There was an Australian car company called Holden, they started to go bankrupt and asked for a bailout and promised to stay in Australia. They got the money and shut everything down and went out of business at the demands of Chevy who bought Holden.

Chevy bought lots of companies so they could run them into the ground and get the bailout money before killing them...
