I went for a walk once in a swamp in GA. I had a small dog with me. A damn armadillo came charging my dog, til it saw me.

Have fun with armadillos. I shot one twice with my .45 and he just ran off. My buddy engaged his mate with a 12 gauge slug and it also just ran off.

Australia is awesome. Just don't go near land, salt or fresh water and you'll be fine.

I did learn deer scream when frightened. First time I ever heard one scream was when I got out of my car and turned on a headlamp. I heard some kind of screaming in the woods and leaves...Scared the hell out of me.

I think I'd be more concerned about the snakes there. Deadly ones. That was a concern when I visited Costa Rica. They have the fer de lance there, along with 18 species of venomous snakes that live in trees....

Luckily only fer de lance I saw was roadkill.

I spend a lot of time in the bush and see snakes everywhere. They are generally pretty harmless to be honest, although we do have something like 8-9 of the ten most venomous.

The Sydney Funnel web spider has fangs that can penetrate a leather boot. And it will literally run at you to attack you.

Brown snakes and taipan I think are my biggest fear of running into.
