Been on a lotr/the Hobbit marathon myself. Peter Jackson did lotr okay. The Hobbit is way off. Hollywood. Always assuming ppl don't read, like their actors.

I never read nor watched lotr

I tried the hobbit movies, several times, couldn't get more than an hour into the first one before getting bored

meanwhile, pretty much every year I sit down and do a directors cut marathon of all the lotr movies

and I'm honestly not a big fan of the material but they're so well done

Yeah I feel like the build up on the first Hobbit movie was just too slow
