We need it because we are naturally very violent creatures that need something to satisfy that. Doesn't mean we should, but it's a natural thing for us that we desire blood and violence. I mean look at Hollywood, the most movies and the most popular movies that are produced there, are extremely violent movies where they usually glorify the bad guy.
