thanks for the answers

2020-10-16 01:11:28 UTC

people who were "fake" because of religion

2020-10-16 01:11:33 UTC

do catholics go to church every sunday?

2020-10-16 01:11:50 UTC

eg. one of my friends was gay and liked me back in HS, but he wouldnt say it because he was a strict religious person and had the fake image of this perfect like noble dude

2020-10-16 01:11:58 UTC

even you youre 100% atheist, study the bible as if it is a fable (STUDY IT AS ONE IF YOU ARE ATHEIST im not trying to offend anyone) @DrewDaPilot but the bible does provide good lessons, even if you dont follow it strictly

2020-10-16 01:12:12 UTC

im forced to go to church every sunday, sunday night, wednesday, every event, whenever the church needs help etc.

2020-10-16 01:12:23 UTC

eg. one of my other friends (who I still talk to today) interprets the bible literally, which is dangerous in many respects. Dehumanizes certain groups, believes in chemtrails, and I am not equating this all to the bible, but

2020-10-16 01:12:31 UTC

a piece of 2000 year old text shouldn't be interpreted literally

2020-10-16 01:12:36 UTC

why

2020-10-16 01:12:48 UTC

at best it should be anectdotal

2020-10-16 01:13:01 UTC

because, the piece tries to define how people live their lives

2020-10-16 01:13:06 UTC

I believe there are a lot of good morals in religion, and some bad ones. I cant believe that some crazy people have told me I cant have morals or be a morally good person unless I become very religioius.

2020-10-16 01:13:13 UTC

its a stark contrast from an old document like the constitution which protects individuality

2020-10-16 01:13:18 UTC

the constitution needs to be interpreted somewhat literally, else it looses all meaning

2020-10-16 01:13:31 UTC

but the meaning of the bible is figurative

2020-10-16 01:13:32 UTC

but how do we know that killing is bad? we just evolved into animals who knew these certain ideas as good or bad? like why do tribes in the middle of the amazon rain forest know not to murder, and never have seen any outside people?the biggest evidence for a god is that we have a conscious

2020-10-16 01:13:37 UTC

because

2020-10-16 01:13:39 UTC

this is why not the whole thing is based off the Bible. you can't just live off what the Bible says literally, you have to interpret it properly. this is where the RELATIONSHIP comes in. if you have a relationship with God and you have received the Holy Spirit, then you'll be set

2020-10-16 01:13:41 UTC

killing didnt benefit you

2020-10-16 01:13:53 UTC

how do you know that

2020-10-16 01:13:54 UTC

the reason we have society is in some respects a evolutionary greed

2020-10-16 01:13:56 UTC

but stealing does

2020-10-16 01:14:11 UTC

which is why you probably won't understand why christians love the Bible so much

2020-10-16 01:14:16 UTC

and they know that stealing is bad and you get punished for stealing

2020-10-16 01:14:16 UTC

> the reason we have society is in some respects a evolutionary greed

2020-10-16 01:14:18 UTC

humans arent the only ones with a consciousness

2020-10-16 01:14:27 UTC

the entire evolutionary benefit of society is lost if cooperation is lost

2020-10-16 01:14:28 UTC

who else does

2020-10-16 01:14:37 UTC

its hard to prove that @Wardog but I actually agree

2020-10-16 01:14:42 UTC

theres no objective evidence that a pig isn't conscious

2020-10-16 01:14:52 UTC

theres no evidence that it is either

2020-10-16 01:14:52 UTC

theres no objective definition of consciousness lol

2020-10-16 01:15:04 UTC

Omg Biden is making no sense

2020-10-16 01:15:09 UTC

This is great

2020-10-16 01:15:09 UTC

eg. if you teleport someone by deleting and reconstructing "them", is it still them?

2020-10-16 01:15:14 UTC

@DrewDaPilot actually its kinda the opposite
society is held together by a social contractthat being if you agree not to cause trouble you are granted certain benifits (this can be seen in the idea of citizenship benifits)

if it was greed, there would be no society

2020-10-16 01:15:25 UTC

I said evolutionary greed

2020-10-16 01:15:34 UTC

in the sense that we evolved social connections to benefit the individual

2020-10-16 01:15:35 UTC

wait really

2020-10-16 01:15:36 UTC
