That's more interesting and arguably more productive, but *political participation* implies an attempt to influence a campaign, or at least drive out the vote neutrally.

2020-10-16 02:35:09 UTC

Maybe two hours each time

2020-10-16 02:35:30 UTC

2020-10-16 02:35:37 UTC

2020-10-16 02:35:43 UTC

Encourage people to vote in person while ya do it

2020-10-16 02:35:51 UTC

2020-10-16 02:36:38 UTC

I voted for Trump today after work

2020-10-16 02:36:42 UTC

good

2020-10-16 02:36:44 UTC

So rationalize your platform to any who are interested, without demanding that they do the same in turn.

2020-10-16 02:36:54 UTC

But if they want to, let them.

2020-10-16 02:36:57 UTC

my friend doesnt wanna help organize it

2020-10-16 02:37:00 UTC

The conservative side of the interwebs woulda gotten hold of that immediately @The Central Scrutinizer , they probably didn't wanna deal with the backlash

2020-10-16 02:37:05 UTC

he says that he hates how we "have to protest" to get participation hours

2020-10-16 02:37:07 UTC

which is kinda true

2020-10-16 02:37:13 UTC

republicans (ie, me and him) are literally fucked

2020-10-16 02:37:19 UTC

99% of opportunities she posts are for liberals

2020-10-16 02:37:26 UTC

In my town I see like 20 campaign signs directly outside the voting station

2020-10-16 02:37:37 UTC

I'm so glad I have a normal Govt class... Lmao

2020-10-16 02:37:39 UTC

I can also just attend town meeting zooms but thats boring

2020-10-16 02:37:53 UTC

@Bear if you absolutely CANNOT, yes,

2020-10-16 02:38:02 UTC

you couldnt do an absentee ballot instead

2020-10-16 02:38:06 UTC

absentees are generally safer

2020-10-16 02:38:27 UTC

Dude my govt teacher is surprisingly unbiased, I got hella lucky

2020-10-16 02:38:30 UTC

It doesn't take much organizing. Bring a table, chair, and a Trump or Republican or whatever campaign sign you're most interested in.

2020-10-16 02:38:57 UTC

Pick an appropriate sidewalk or plaza, and chill for a Saturday.

2020-10-16 02:39:04 UTC

lol

2020-10-16 02:39:08 UTC

Have some people there to protect you if stuff goes south as well

2020-10-16 02:39:14 UTC

yea, my town has a "harbor" with tons of foot traffic and shops

2020-10-16 02:39:21 UTC

im thinking of setting up something

2020-10-16 02:39:24 UTC

fun and easy way to get hours

2020-10-16 02:39:29 UTC

but more importantly; it actually does something long term

2020-10-16 02:39:47 UTC

promoting these discussions promotes real change; a single politician doesnt really

2020-10-16 02:39:59 UTC

Agreed

2020-10-16 02:39:59 UTC

there are issues that politics cant solve or wont.

2020-10-16 02:40:24 UTC

wrong channel oops

2020-10-16 02:40:53 UTC

ooh, if attending meetings works, watch a county commissioner meeting. Get a better understanding of the responsibilities of your local government. The separation of powers into the local-state-federal levels is just as important as the separation into legislative-executive-judicial.

2020-10-16 02:40:57 UTC

@Bear oh yea
