the electoral college does not work anymore. It had its use when the US was a loose federation of territories and states. Maybe it was helpful when we didn't have trains or telegraphs.

It won't be that easy. I am in favor of putting in a system of ranked choice vote before i get rid of the electoral college.

well, most people would put whoever they want to become president as their first choice. If their first choice does not become president then their vote goes to their second choice and so on and so forth
