me and my two friends were discussing this on the Trump rally we went too a little while ago... and there are several reasons why its banned. One that Ive heard and see it to be true, is because it was mainly black people (blues and jazz musicians) back in the day that were smoking and using it, and the racists of the time didnt like that. Also, its not the smoking kind, but the closely related "Hemp" wouldve probably put paper companies out of business, oil companies out of business, whaling companies out of business, etc. Hemp oil might even be better than fossil fuels for powering our vehicles... then also soap, its great for that... etc.

all these big companies, and possibly racists as well, had a lot of reasons to get it pushed to become illegal.

the plus side is if you legalize it: it can become lucrative instead of being a spending issue

Weed was demonized for capitalistic purposes

but it just so happens weed is more profitable being legal than illegal

Also pharmaceuticals companies don't like the idea of all-natural, cheap pain relief.

mhm. we'd have a lot less drug violence if weed was legal too. lot less cartel and gang activity. also, people get hooked on something and try worse and worse stuff (some) and its all illegal so whats the difference to them? if you have legal marijuana, I personally think people would be more willing to stay within the law since they can get that high if they really really want too without breaking the law and using actually dangerous shit

You don't have criminality with weed: you do have a ton of it if it's opioids or cocaine derivatives

I used against weed/marijuana when I was younger until I started getting into politics because "oh no, bad scary drug!" but after learning all the health benefits and medicines it could replace, as well as closely related strains/types could be used for paper production/fuel production, my mind changed a lot on it.
