i always debated getting these extra strength blue lazer

2019-10-11 22:52:59 UTC

pointers

2019-10-11 22:53:05 UTC

but its like 40 euro or smthn probably

2019-10-11 23:44:04 UTC

@onoderaSecurity I wouldn't. Lasers are neat, but the powerful ones can instantly blind you if you ever make the slightest mistake.

2019-10-11 23:45:02 UTC

If you do get powerful lasers like that

2019-10-11 23:45:16 UTC

you shouldnt be stupid enough not to point it in your eyes

2019-10-11 23:45:21 UTC

Don't buy cheap goggles to protect yourself

2019-10-11 23:45:42 UTC

You'd need to buy some that cost about the same as a chink laser

2019-10-12 01:09:22 UTC

@onoderaSecurity Yeah no shit you don't shine it in your eyes. But I'm not talking about actively trying to blind yourself, I'm talking the tiniest reflection coming around the edge of your goggles(because you DID drop big money on safety equipment, right?) might be enough to do damage before your blink reflex kicks in, and you might not even notice that there are reflections, because a lot of cheap lasers don't filter out infrared, which isn't visible to the naked eye, and isn't filtered out by the safety equipment you bought that's tuned to the color of your laser.

2019-10-12 03:06:02 UTC

why would you even want one beyond "lol this is cool"

2019-10-12 03:23:25 UTC

Exactly. Spend half that amount and get two or three neat colors instead.

2019-10-12 06:35:56 UTC

this is one time the nanny state comes in handy

2019-10-12 06:36:11 UTC

you cant actually buy handheld lasers that can do permanent eye damage here

2019-10-12 06:36:16 UTC

they all get confiscated at customs

2019-10-12 06:36:33 UTC

stops me blowing $50 on a laser so powerful it can burn paper

2019-10-12 07:25:39 UTC

US, lasers are legal, but there's a distinction between lasers and laser pointers.

2019-10-12 07:25:58 UTC

If it's sold as a laser pointy, it can't be over 5mw

2019-10-12 07:26:50 UTC

Laser, it needs to have a two-stage thing to start it, like a key and a button. And I think there's something about filtering IR.

2019-10-12 07:37:59 UTC

@onoderaSecurity like timsandtoms said, it's not about intentionally pointing it at your eyes, it's accidental reflections from things you might not even expect

2019-10-12 10:10:38 UTC

does anyone of you regonize this manufacturer https://lbda.net/92d.png

2019-10-12 10:10:46 UTC

most likely russian knife or tool manufacturer

2019-10-12 10:11:05 UTC

possibly small

2019-10-12 10:17:11 UTC

here's the search result I used

2019-10-12 10:17:36 UTC

ahh yeah i wonderf if that was cn3 or something more artistic

2019-10-12 10:17:46 UTC

but never actualy tried to search with it

2019-10-12 10:17:49 UTC

thank you good sir

2019-10-12 10:17:53 UTC

that was fastest delivery today :P

2019-10-12 10:17:56 UTC

it looks like CN3

2019-10-12 10:18:12 UTC

but it's cyrillic characters

2019-10-12 10:18:19 UTC

so CN3 wouldn't work

2019-10-12 10:18:22 UTC

yeah

2019-10-12 10:18:30 UTC

my thought exactly

2019-10-12 10:20:44 UTC

reverse n = i

2019-10-12 10:20:46 UTC

so CI3

2019-10-12 10:21:20 UTC

it's also not a 3

2019-10-12 10:21:45 UTC

but the weird reversed epsilon

2019-10-12 10:22:43 UTC

that's an e
