There are plenty of ways to rig an election without printing ballots or destroying them. And ways that are perfectly legal if unfair... properly rigged elections happen months and years before elections even take place with these methods:
1.) Gerrymandering
2.) Party splitting by manipulating which third parties are allowed on the ballot
^^These are extremely prevalent in USA, and there is outright proof of these winning elections in this very election^^
And if you want to talk about clever ways elections have been rigged in the past:
1.) giving dissidents pens with disappearing ink (happened in Ukraine)
2.) having a running mate with a similar last name as your opposition to split their vote using confusion in the voting booth
3.) closing the government every time someone tries to petition to run for office (Madagascar)

I have seen in many of these states, Right leaning third parties were on the ballot, but left leaning third parties were denied from being on the ballot (write in only).
Check county and state election ballots, I did, it's true. Dems have won states that they wouldn't have if you account for the votes that went to right leaning third parties.
