ok, I am trying to unlock my shitty htc pico's bootloader but the guide on htc's site is outdated because the android sdk dev kit has been updated, my phone doesn't get recognized by htc sync manager as well so, is there a way to unlock bootloader? :^)

2017-09-09 10:29:13 UTC

are you sure you're in the OS and not the bootloader for the moment

2017-09-09 10:29:28 UTC

are you sure you have the drivers installed correctly

2017-09-09 10:29:40 UTC

what do you mean w/ os? normal boot?

2017-09-09 10:29:43 UTC

yeah

2017-09-09 10:29:45 UTC

normal OS

2017-09-09 10:29:54 UTC

with USB debugging enabled

2017-09-09 10:30:07 UTC

If I enable it, I cannot access the sd card, is that normal?

2017-09-09 10:30:25 UTC

that's not normal, but just remove it for the moment

2017-09-09 10:30:36 UTC

in case it gets wiped when you unlock the bootloader

2017-09-09 10:31:25 UTC

okay, I enabled USB debugging, I unmounted the SD

2017-09-09 10:31:58 UTC

right

2017-09-09 10:32:04 UTC

now follow the steps off XDA

2017-09-09 10:32:10 UTC

and I installed the java runtime enviroment, htc sync manager

2017-09-09 10:32:19 UTC

but I don't get it w/ the google android SDK

2017-09-09 10:32:24 UTC

the 2 gb file?

2017-09-09 10:32:56 UTC

usually it's recommended to install android studio for the entire SDK

2017-09-09 10:33:03 UTC

I did that part

2017-09-09 10:33:38 UTC

the steps say on xda: unlock your phones bootloader

2017-09-09 10:34:44 UTC

what do I have to do w/ those binaries

2017-09-09 10:34:50 UTC

yep, those require you to be in fastboot mode instead of the normal OS

2017-09-09 10:34:55 UTC

copy them to a directory and open them

2017-09-09 10:35:30 UTC

fastboot allows flashing of the bootloader and other core parts of the operating system

2017-09-09 10:35:58 UTC

okay, so I have to go to the bootloader?

2017-09-09 10:38:03 UTC

just follow their steps 1, 2 and 3

2017-09-09 10:43:42 UTC

ok I did step 1 to 5, at step 5 I get the error: adbwinapi.dll missing

2017-09-09 10:44:03 UTC

which one did you download

2017-09-09 10:44:09 UTC

the windows version

2017-09-09 10:44:12 UTC

Im on windows 10

2017-09-09 10:50:16 UTC

copy adb.exe, adbwinapi.dll and fastboot.exe from the sdk folder

2017-09-09 10:50:25 UTC

into the shit from HTC Dev

2017-09-09 10:50:50 UTC

the thing is, they do not exist

2017-09-09 10:51:10 UTC

I installed it 2 times
