ok, I am trying to unlock my shitty htc pico's bootloader but the guide on htc's site is outdated because the android sdk dev kit has been updated, my phone doesn't get recognized by htc sync manager as well so, is there a way to unlock bootloader? :^)
are you sure you're in the OS and not the bootloader for the moment
are you sure you have the drivers installed correctly
what do you mean w/ os? normal boot?
yeah
normal OS
with USB debugging enabled
If I enable it, I cannot access the sd card, is that normal?
that's not normal, but just remove it for the moment
in case it gets wiped when you unlock the bootloader
okay, I enabled USB debugging, I unmounted the SD
right
now follow the steps off XDA
and I installed the java runtime enviroment, htc sync manager
but I don't get it w/ the google android SDK
the 2 gb file?
usually it's recommended to install android studio for the entire SDK
I did that part
the steps say on xda: unlock your phones bootloader
what do I have to do w/ those binaries
yep, those require you to be in fastboot mode instead of the normal OS
copy them to a directory and open them
fastboot allows flashing of the bootloader and other core parts of the operating system
okay, so I have to go to the bootloader?
just follow their steps 1, 2 and 3
ok I did step 1 to 5, at step 5 I get the error: adbwinapi.dll missing
which one did you download
the windows version
Im on windows 10
copy adb.exe, adbwinapi.dll and fastboot.exe from the sdk folder
into the shit from HTC Dev
the thing is, they do not exist
