Oh I enjoy math, and have learned quite a bit to program things, but it was never anything they would teach me in school

For me it isnt as much of what they teach, but how they are incapable of teaching it effectively

Iirc they're teaching different subjects as a way to improve skills of students on different aspects, such as problem-solving, logical solving, etc.

Just like how History teaches us to be skeptical, research, and verify sources (which is sadly not being followed anymore in many schools I have seen).

My old school had a graduation requirement that you had to take a semester class that was general financial literacy where you learned to do taxes, write checks, how banks work, how investment works, interest and other shit

I am pretty sure the most you have to learn is pre-calculus.
