I don’t think you need a dude in a robe to pray for you and I don’t think the pope or anyone like that is better than you. Most Catholics think the same thing as me. But I know many people who are priests think they are better

It blows my mind how not only were black people lynched for the color of their skin, but Chinese people were too at the time. Given it wasn’t as severe as with black people since they weren’t actual slaves, there were still riots against Chinese coming in, the Chinese exclusion act, the Chinese being called disgusting and smelly, like..... but then now they never complain about white supremacy. They don’t complain about racism, even though there has always been anti Asian sentiment until now. They still value hard work and individual merit over victimization, and it’s fucking remarkable and inspirational
