Yeah our basis of where our conclusions are drawn from are fundamentally different, which makes it hard for two people to talk of such things sometimes. Like, I've had plenty of time/friends that are deeply religious, and we have had discussions (not debates) to understand each other better. And I think I generally understand where the religion worldview comes from, and find it interesting. Again, another reason why I think 'debating' creation is rather pointless.

It depends on what type of atheist you are talking about. For example, some atheists pre-suppose that a god can not exist, which yes, requires faith, but some atheists (like me) take the position that they are simply unconvinced that creation is a thing, which lacks faith in anything. That being said, that doesn't make my position any more correct than yours so it's again, a pointless rabbit hole imo
