Yeah unforunately when smaller skunkwork game companies get bought up or even just grow larger themselves and become more business oriented the vision transitions from develop great games to milk the customer as much as possible

If you are referring to steam, some games stay “early access” literally forever

That's why I have a bad taste for early access games
