They charge so much because hospitals have to recoup the cost of the machine, which they get gouged on, pay their doctors which got gouged on their college education, and line the pockets of shareholders who turned maintaining people's health into a business venture

And normally, I WOULD just call out of work and let this sickness pass naturally, because it fucking will, but NOPE, gotta have a doctor's note for any absence greater than 3 days, or else it's leave without pay. Literally every cog in this machine is designed to fuck me over, reeeeee
