They could work as police correspondents

2020-09-17 17:54:22 UTC

or like help out with police work

2020-09-17 17:54:26 UTC

If they make programs for shit like that

2020-09-17 17:55:11 UTC

I agree, if theyre mentally unfit then no they shouldnt take up a high stress job that involves being armed around innocent people. but guys that are cleared should be welcomed as armed guards for schools and stuff. its kind of like the "arm the teachers" thing... sure there may be some teachers who are very qualified conceal carriers... but that doesnt mean a bunch of teachers should be armed. if that makes any sense.

Meryl thought you were a zed mem

2020-09-17 18:00:00 UTC

Is anyone “mentally” stable?

2020-09-17 18:00:35 UTC

Or are we societally stable ?

2020-09-17 18:01:30 UTC

Meaning are we sane to what societal structure believes what sane is.

2020-09-17 18:01:53 UTC

I ain’t mentally stable but most the people I know are stable

2020-09-17 18:02:10 UTC

But you only consider them stable because you see the front they put up

2020-09-17 18:02:33 UTC

Everyone in some way isn’t stable

2020-09-17 18:02:51 UTC

Everyone is capable of doing bad things and extremely bad things

2020-09-17 18:02:59 UTC

Even if you are mentally stable

2020-09-17 18:04:15 UTC

Example; God forbid your wife dies or someone close to you dies. What happens? Well your stable ness is still there although you have a flaw.

2020-09-17 18:04:57 UTC

i just meant someone that isn't suffering from trauma i guess

2020-09-17 18:05:00 UTC

It’s emotion and the emotion will all rush out at once and you’ll do things you might regret

2020-09-17 18:05:55 UTC

But we all suffer trauma in some point in our lives ( by the age of 20) someone will know of someone who has died, been killed in action , and has witnessed a death

2020-09-17 18:06:07 UTC

k, i'm wrong

2020-09-17 18:06:11 UTC

Idk

2020-09-17 18:06:15 UTC

You might be right

2020-09-17 18:06:22 UTC

I’m playing devils advocate

2020-09-17 18:10:02 UTC

not sure exactly what you were trying to argue, but the difference between being mentally unstable and mentally stable isnt really hard to see. Everyone struggles at one point or another and goes through tough times... but that doesnt mean theyre unstable... same principle as feeling sad one day doesnt mean you have depression.

2020-09-17 18:10:28 UTC

dunno

2020-09-17 18:11:20 UTC

idk who was arguing

2020-09-17 18:12:03 UTC

that was @ Constitutional Party Revolution when he asked is anyone really "mentally" stable.

2020-09-17 18:13:15 UTC

some people are some people aren't

2020-09-17 18:13:30 UTC

That's more of a philosophical question

2020-09-17 18:13:53 UTC

i mean for me it's like i'd want the best of the best watchin over my kid if it came down to it

2020-09-17 18:15:17 UTC

we were talking about soldiers watchin kids

2020-09-17 18:15:19 UTC

at school

2020-09-17 18:15:21 UTC

i think

2020-09-17 18:15:29 UTC

well it can be, but theres a philosophical side to it and a legit medical side too it. people with PTSD arent stable. People with serious anxiety arent stable. Small things can set either of those off that will throw someone completely out of whack and produce a reaction thats way overblown. thats mentally unstable. someone who loses a loved one and takes it really hard is probably mentally unstable for the time being. but theres a difference between an average person and someone who has some serious issues causing them to have problems with mental stability

2020-09-17 18:17:48 UTC

not talking about giving someone a position for life and making them deal with a stressful job permanently no matter what happens... Thats why a lot of cops retire young or are moved to desk work... they go through serious stuff and realize they cant handle the stress of the job anymore. So having military veterans as armed guards for schools works, but you dont just force them to stay in that position if something happens too them or they feel like they need to leave their position. I get the whole "be careful about putting veterans in a position like that because they might have ptsd" (even though not all of them do...) but I dont get the whole argument about "everyone might or might not be mentally stable" ....

2020-09-17 18:19:21 UTC

its not just law enforcement jobs or military jobs or guard jobs that are stressful and require people to have a certain level of mental stability... there are plenty of jobs that are horribly stressful that some people cant handle the same as those. Working in a shitty retail job and dealing with nasty people for one... even working one of those really monotonous office jobs. those dont immediately jump out at you as "super high stress" but they can still get to people...

2020-09-17 18:20:33 UTC

tis true

2020-09-17 18:36:48 UTC
