I disagree. If you are old enough to serve the country, you are old enough to vote. I think there should be a class that teaches people to think for themselves regarding politics.

I think in place of some of the over taught history courses, where you learn the same piece of history every year, they should discuss the U.S. political system and the atmosphere of the political field. It is sad how few people know anything about the political system. Almost as bad is the teaching, or lack thereof, about finances and how to handle your own finances. I think a lot of voters are uninformed at this point.

Well I don't think it's just history you must learn.

You must learn the values that created this country as well.

The understanding and the beliefs that made what we are today.

I agree. I think the issue is when you take four history courses in high school, that most people will never need to know. I agree history is important, but 4 years of history in high school isn't necessary.
