@ here 1 ...... The best way to balance public health and individual freedom is to stick to 5 main assumptions about human nature and regulate in the minimalistic ways based on these 5 assumptions. Doing so allows people to feel confident in the regulation in place because they are minimalistic in nature. These assumptions come from standard human morality.
The first assumption is to assume most people are good when and only when you give them the freedom to regulate their own choices. This is important, giving people more choices is important. the only rules should apply to the murder of other humans, including these in the womb and these that are on the verge of dying or in a comma. letting people do whatever, whenever outside of these constraints is important.
The second assumption is the more you try to control people the more they repel. I personally do not wear masks because they are being faced with me. So simply put the world of lawlessness will do what it wants so fewer laws are always better as long as it follows the precedent set by assumption one … not killing humans, for conception to the grave. Therefore just let people be alone as long as no one dies.
The third assumption, and here we start talking about regulation, is We should regulate but only for major substances that can cause someone to harm others. we should regulate regulated but allow human killing substances, such as pepper spray and cyanide, so that they are only used in self-defense or suicide attempts, as killing one's self will only harm them it may be seen as an exemption to the precedent set by assumption one if only if we as a society do not benefit from their existence and have attempted to help but not hindered them from living there fullest life including their right to kill themselves.

The fourth assumption is a subcategory of the third assumption that involves addictive human killing substances and behaviors ( AHKSB) such as porn and drugs should be regulated harder than human-killing substances but allowed in certain cases because of assumption 2. I have personally struggled with porn addiction because addictive substances are hard to overcome. We should promote the education of them to everyone and publicly educate them about them. These things hinder free thought and have to be regulated. We should make it hard to make drugs … and hard for children to get porn. However, it is important to stay consistent we should not punish children having sex with each other as having real sex is not addictive and it is the child's but we should stop promoting the sexualization in culture as that is healthy. We stop the problem at the source by not allowing them to have porn as it will impact their ability to make designations. We should not punish drug dealers harshly - only fines should be necessary. We should punish drug users only after they might cause harm to others and again not promote it in the culture.
Lastly, the fifth assumption is more rules should be recommended not required but punishable by law if proven to be the cause of an accident resulting in loss of human life. A good example of this is smoking indoors should be allowed. If there is a fire the person who starts a fire should pay for the damages. Another example of this concept is gun violence. Every person should own a gun to defend their life. It is quite healthy and personally freeing to own a gun. Owning a gun makes you not fear other folks and that is why it is healthy.
In conclusion, The best way to balance public health and individual freedom is to stick to the 5 main assumptions about human nature mentioned above and regulate in the most minimalistic ways possible based on these 5 assumptions. Following the 5 main assumptions about human nature mentioned above allows people to feel confident in the regulation in place because they are minimalistic in nature. I know everyone thinks differently about morality but as far as balancing public health with individual freedoms we should do these things to optimize the personal freedom of the individual and to protect everyone's right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness , god bless the USA.
