So, I guess in the simplest terms, it's where the out of touch career politicians are, metaphorically. When you say something is an ivory tower, it means that anybody below the slightly wealthy people aren't allowed to get there. So, like when trump got elected. My local police chief (I only live near a town of about 1500 people) made the news because he's been asking the elementary school to fix their traffic since he became chief 6 years ago and they never did so 2 days ago he gave out 8 tickets to everyone that was blocking the road. When people complained on facebook he told them to stop being tittie babies and don't block the road.

When I was in elementary 3 years ago my dad made a women cry because he was in a f250 and she was in little car and he started yelling at her and said he was gonna put her in the ditch because she wouldn't get off the road.
