The amount of ridiculous attempts to try and pin this on someone else is **staggering**.

2021-01-08 16:52:27 UTC

@Maw is it "name-calling" to call the DNC socialist when Bernie Sanders actively campaigns with "Democratic Socialist Party" banners? Or is it just using the name they are using themselves? If socialism was espoused and defined by Karl Marx is it incorrect to call them Marxist? They are using the socialist banner. If an egg looks like an egg, acts like an egg, says it is an egg, don't you call it an egg? I, in no way, condone what went on in the capitol or any of the violence and destruction in the BLM "protests". I believe there are valid points of contention around the election that the courts refused to address and the electoral agents failed miserably to dispel. I believe that there is merit in an America first policy that looks after its citizens before it looks after the rest of the world. I believe we have enough problems at home without tieing ourselves to foreign agreements that tie our hands in response to bad actors or in how we deal with "global warming". I believe that in most cases, less government, most especially federal government, is better. I do not believe that the president should enter into agreements with foreign nations without the advice and consent of the Senate. I do not believe a simple majority of any party should be sufficient to remove or impeach a president or to enter into a foreign agreement. I do not believe the president or the CDC or WHO or any other federal or international agency, especially one that is not elected, should be able to pass decrees that are legally enforcable. If the DNC said it wants to make DC and Puerto Rico for the sole purpose of solidifying their power and control in the house and senate, that should scare everyone.

2021-01-08 16:53:06 UTC

Yes. To call the entire DNC socialists, communists, and marxists is 100% name-calling and partisan rhetoric.

2021-01-08 16:53:38 UTC

Who among the DNC is denouncing the "socialist rehtoric"?

2021-01-08 16:54:12 UTC

rhetoric

2021-01-08 16:54:16 UTC

Why must they denounce it? Should we go around asking all republicans to denounce fascism, to denounce extreme nationalism?

2021-01-08 16:54:35 UTC

They did it to the president countless times

2021-01-08 16:54:40 UTC

Cool, that's them.

2021-01-08 16:54:44 UTC

Why did he have to denounce it

2021-01-08 16:54:50 UTC

?

2021-01-08 16:55:04 UTC

Good question.

2021-01-08 16:55:19 UTC

Not relevant to my point though.

2021-01-08 16:55:43 UTC

What is "extreme nationalism"? Is loving the constitution and the rights it bestows on us "extreme"?

2021-01-08 16:56:14 UTC

Extreme nationalism is the idea that there is one group of superior people in the world and that everyone else is inferior.

2021-01-08 16:56:47 UTC

It's extremely isolationist usually.

2021-01-08 16:56:51 UTC

I see that you are asking those of us that are for preserving the constitution and for smaller federal government not to paint the other side with a broad brush, but when they all tow the same line it is hard not too.

2021-01-08 16:56:51 UTC

@gjblajian, you just advanced to level 2!

2021-01-08 16:56:55 UTC

There aren’t a Fascist Republicans though. There is in fact socialist Democrats. De Blasio daughter is a Marxist. Mayor lightfoot of Chicago is a socialist Marxist pretty much. The only fascism in this country are from the left.

The fascist of the future will call themselves anti fascist. Using that term is a projection to create a boogey man

2021-01-08 16:56:58 UTC

It can also be extremely imperialist.

2021-01-08 16:57:04 UTC

This slaps so hard https://youtu.be/o8hYrNsRoTs

2021-01-08 16:57:20 UTC

My favorite banger of the year lolll

2021-01-08 16:57:25 UTC

Don't care. You wouldn't use the excuse of 'he started it first' with your mother, why are you using it with me?

2021-01-08 16:57:37 UTC

Two wrongs don't make a right.

2021-01-08 16:57:53 UTC

If you are going to complain about the divisive rhetoric, don't engage in it yourself.

2021-01-08 16:58:50 UTC

Cool. Yes, I'm aware of what Reagan said.

2021-01-08 16:58:55 UTC

@Maw Well, that is confusing. Your answer to divisive rhetoric is not to point it out? So silence?

2021-01-08 16:59:15 UTC

To not engage in it yourself, I think is what I actually said.

2021-01-08 17:00:18 UTC

Churchill

2021-01-08 17:00:40 UTC

Context is important no matter what the argument is.

2021-01-08 17:00:46 UTC

Presumed you were talking about one of the more popular of the two to the American right, but yes, you're correct.

2021-01-08 17:01:12 UTC

I don’t really know if he even created the phrase. I’m pretty sure he just retained ownership due to his popularity.

2021-01-08 17:01:46 UTC

I don't recall using any names I simply pointed out that they do. I did point out that a majority of the "media-worthy" democrats espouse socialist ideals, but I guess it is not acceptable to call an egg an egg.

2021-01-08 17:02:13 UTC

Social ideals != Socialist. Not how that works.

2021-01-08 17:02:29 UTC

And it sure as hell doesn't make them communists.

2021-01-08 17:02:43 UTC

I never used the term communist

2021-01-08 17:02:55 UTC

please stop trying to put words in my mouth

2021-01-08 17:03:04 UTC

Communism is to socialists what heaven is to Christians

2021-01-08 17:03:06 UTC

I never used the term fascist. We're not talking about you and me though.

2021-01-08 17:03:16 UTC

Pff.

2021-01-08 17:03:20 UTC

Essentially.

2021-01-08 17:03:22 UTC

Tell that to Hitler.
